As with most types of insurance, premiums vary depending on the extent of cover, the perceived risks, and the period of insurance. Different insurers will provide different terms or conditions, for example:

Provide a discount, up to 50%, for children under 15 years old travelling with an adult, whilst some companies make no charge for children under 2 years old.

Charge a family premium to include husband and wife, and up to four children.

Charge an increased premium for senior citizens and those people intending to participate in hazardous pursuits, such as winter sports or motorcycling. Alternatively, they may be referred to specialist insurers.
